Job summary

SOLV Energy, a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, is seeking an Engineering level SCADA support role. Hybrid work with in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR or fully remote; location details discussed in interview.

Responsibilities include designing, developing, and delivering SOLV SCADA solutions for solar PV and BESS projects, coordinating with customers and field techs, and ensuring compliance with design standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of SCADA engineering experience in renewable energy (PV solar, BESS, or wind).
• Proficiency with Python programming.
• Ignition SCADA platform experience.
• Relational databases knowledge.
• Familiarity with PLC environments (Schweitzer RTAC, Allen-Bradley, GE/Emerson RX3i).
• Experience installing and commissioning SCADA networks (Fiber Optics, RS-232/RS-485, Ethernet).
• Knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.
• Ability to read and develop diagrams/schematics (power systems, networking, electrical, mechanical, civil).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with subcontractors and field personnel.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop SCADA integration components for utility-scaleRenewable energy projects.
• Define and implement product design standards and best practices.
• Review and implement project-specific requirements.
• Prepare device points lists, HMIs, test plans, and checklists.
• Program and commission SCADA servers, data historians, and HMIs.
• Review closeout docs to verify contractual deliverables.
• Provide intermediate technical support for SCADA configurations.
• Engage in technical discussions with customers and partners.
• Maintain a centralized knowledge base.
• Use diagnostic tools for troubleshooting plant monitoring and control systems.
• Coordinate with customers and field technicians for on-site commissioning.
• Identify required software/hardware and learn as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for platform development and data integration.
• Provide project status reports and support risk mitigation.
• Promote NERC compliance and governance in programming and commissioning.
• Support SOLV Operations center for project integrations and handoffs.
