Job summary

Baker Tilly US, LLP is seeking a State & Local Tax Senior Manager with a consulting focus to join our SALT practice near one of our offices.

You will work directly with CFOs and senior leaders from middle-market and Fortune 500 companies to solve complex state and local tax challenges, including nexus, taxability, voluntary disclosures, rulings and remediation, with a broad scope spanning income, franchise and sales tax.

Qualifications

4-year degree required.
Masters or advanced degree preferred.
CPA or Law license required.
8+ years SALT experience in a professional services firm.
2+ years supervisory experience desired.

Responsibilities

Be a trusted advisor to middle market and Fortune 500 clients for state and local tax compliance and consulting.
Manage multi-state reviews across income, franchise, sales and use, and other taxes to identify optimal structures and incentives.
Research SALT issues including nexus and taxability analyses; quantify potential liabilities.
Counsel clients on state and local tax controversies, prepare ruling requests and respond to notices.
Plan and execute tax projects including due diligence and voluntary disclosures.
Prepare technical memoranda on SALT issues for various entities.
Maintain client communications and recommend process improvements; drive value.
Lead staff and seniors on engagements, manage staffing, billing and profitability.
