Job summary

Baker Tilly, a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm, is seeking a State & Local Tax Senior Manager with a consulting focus to join our growing SALT practice. Located near one of our Baker Tilly offices, you will help clients navigate complex multi-state tax challenges.

You will lead project teams, advise CFOs and leaders of middle market and Fortune 500 companies, develop innovative tax strategies, and mentor staff while driving growth and client value.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree required; master's preferred.
• CPA or Law license required.
• 8+ years of state and local tax experience in a professional services firm.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience; mentoring and counseling associates.
• Ability to lead, provide exceptional client service, and manage projects with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Provide state and local tax compliance and consulting for middle market and Fortune 500 clients.
• Manage multi-state reviews of income, franchise, sales & use, and other taxes to optimize filings.
• Research nexus and taxability issues and quantify potential liabilities.
• Counsel on tax controversies including audits and notices.
• Plan and execute tax projects including due diligence and voluntary disclosures.
• Prepare technical memos on SALT issues.
• Lead and develop staff to achieve profitability targets.
• Build relationships with clients and the business community.
