Baker Tilly US, an advisory, tax and assurance firm, invites an experienced State & Local Tax Senior Manager to join our growing SALT practice. This consulting-focused role collaborates with CFOs and leaders of middle-market and Fortune 500 clients to optimize state and local tax strategies.

The role emphasizes leadership, client service, and technical excellence across nexus, taxability analyses, disclosures and tax engine implementations.

Qualifications

4-year degree required.
Masters or advanced degree preferred.
CPA and/or Law license required.
8+ years state and local tax experience.
2+ years supervisory experience.
Ability to lead and supervise teams; deliver exceptional client service.
U.S. work authorization without sponsorship preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic state and local tax compliance and consulting services for mid-market and Fortune 500 clients.
Manage multi-state reviews across income/franchise/sales tax and other taxes to optimize filings.
Research nexus, taxability, and potential liabilities in SALT matters.
Counsel on controversies and respond to audits and notices.
Lead tax projects including due diligence and disclosures.
Mentor staff and manage engagement staffing and profitability.
Develop client relationships and contribute to firm growth.
