Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. offers a structured Sales Development Program (SDP) at local branches across North America to train you in sales and operations. You’ll shadow roles across the equipment-rental lifecycle and participate in onboarding that sharpens selling techniques.

You’ll progress through outbound campaigns, learn CRM and other tools, and lead high-level conversations, with promotion to Outside Sales Representative based on performance and market conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Shadow sales and operations roles to learn the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Participate in onboarding to sharpen sales technique for success in the industry.
• Engage in outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master sales tools: CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal, mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations including price negotiations and contracts.
