Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Sales Associate to join the Fluid Solutions team. You’ll begin with structured training, shadowing sales and operations, and progress through outbound campaigns while learning our CRM and other sales tools.

Through the Sales Development Program (SDP), you’ll develop relationship-building skills, negotiate with customers, and gain hands-on experience toward promotion to Outside Sales Representative, within 4–6 months

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient with computers and mobile devices.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Begin your training at a local branch, shadowing both sales and operational roles to gain an inside-out understanding of the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Join your peers across North America for a digital onboarding class, designed to sharpen your sales technique and provide a collaborative training environment.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns, exposing you to different construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master key United Rentals sales tools, including CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations involving price negotiations, multi-piece rental requests, and service contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and track development progress through real-time metrics.
• Receive daily feedback from leadership meetings, call coaching, and ride-alongs to refine strategies.
• The SDP lasts 4–6 months before promotion to Outside Sales Representative, depending on performance and market conditions.
