Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate on our General Rentals team to start in a structured Sales Development Program.

You will shadow both sales and operations to learn the full equipment-rental lifecycle and participate in a comprehensive onboarding that hones sales techniques while building a strong internal network. You'll progress through outbound campaigns across construction verticals, learning to navigate price negotiations, government contracts, and equipment service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role (preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Begin training at a local branch and shadow sales and operations roles to gain an inside-out understanding of the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Participate in onboarding designed to sharpen your sales technique and build an internal support network.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master United Rentals sales tools, including the CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations including price negotiations, multi-piece rental requests, and service contracts.
• Support local team initiatives and track progress with real-time sales metrics and coaching.
