Job summary

United Rentals in Minnesota is seeking a motivated trainee for its Sales Development Program. You’ll begin at a local branch, shadowing sales and operations to learn the complete equipment-rental lifecycle, then join a North America onboarding class to sharpen your sales skills and build a robust internal network.

You’ll progress through outbound campaigns across construction verticals, mastering CRM, inventory systems, and the customer portal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M-F.

Responsibilities

• Begin training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operations to understand the equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Join North America onboarding class to sharpen sales technique and build internal support network.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master sales tools including CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations involving negotiations, multi-piece rental requests, and service contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and track progress with performance metrics and coaching.
