Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Sales Associate on our Power & HVAC team. You will begin in a structured Sales Development Program, shadowing both sales and operations to learn the full equipment-rental lifecycle.

You’ll progress through outbound campaigns, master our sales tools (CRM, portals, inventory systems), and advance to an Outside Sales Representative based on performance. Training focuses on relationship-building and revenue growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile device skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M-F.

Responsibilities

• Begin training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operations to learn the equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Attend a North American onboarding class to sharpen sales techniques and build internal networks.
• Participate in outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master United Rentals sales tools, including the CRM, inventory platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Engage in high-level sales conversations, including price negotiations and multi-piece rentals.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver customer solutions and drive revenue.
• Join local team initiatives and track progress through performance metrics.
