Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate on the Trench Safety team to begin a structured training path and develop into an Outside Sales Representative.

Youll learn from industry experts, shadow sales and operations, and gain hands-on experience with our technical products while building key relationship skills. Expect a formal onboarding program, exposure to various sales campaigns, and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile device skills.
• Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Begin training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operations to learn the full equipment rental lifecycle.
• Participate in onboarding and learn sales techniques for success in the industry.
• Engage in outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master United Rentals sales tools including CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Lead high‑level sales conversations, including price negotiations and complex rental requests.
• Participate in local team initiatives and ride-alongs to jobsites; track progress via metrics.
