Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Sales Associate for the Sales Development Program at our Groveport, OH branch. You will train in the equipment rental lifecycle, shadow both sales and operations, and participate in onboarding to sharpen your selling skills.

The program advances to an Outside Sales role as you build relationships, negotiate packages, and drive revenue. You’ll work with CRM and mobile tools, engage with diverse customer segments, and join team initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role (preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile/tablet skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M-F.

Responsibilities

• Begin training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operations to learn the equipment rental lifecycle.
• Join peers for a digital onboarding class to sharpen sales technique.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals, varying customer spend levels, and both new and existing customer segments.
• Master sales tools, including CRM, inventory platforms, customer portal, and mobile applications.
• Lead high-level sales conversations involving price negotiations, contracts, and sale of equipment at end of life.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives such as safety huddles and customer events.
• Track SDP progress through achievement levels, with access to metrics and peer rankings.
• Receive daily feedback from leadership meetings, call coaching, and ride-alongs to jobsites.
• Develop sales strategies for accounts and create realistic timelines to achieve goals.
