Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. in South Roxana, IL is seeking a Sales Associate for our Fluid Solutions team through the Sales Development Program. You will train through a structured path, shadow sales and operations, and gain hands-on experience with our equipment rental lifecycle.

You will learn proven sales techniques, use CRM and other tools, participate in outbound campaigns, and prepare for a future Outside Sales Representative role based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M-F

Responsibilities

• Begin your training at a local branch, shadowing both sales and operational roles to gain an inside-out understanding of the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Join peers across North America for a digital onboarding class to sharpen your sales technique and build internal support networks.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns exposing you to construction verticals, varying customer segments, and equipment rentals.
• Master sales tools including our CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations involving price negotiations, government/educational agreements, service contracts, and used equipment sales.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and ride-alongs to jobsites to develop sales strategies and timelines.
