Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate on the Trench Safety team in the United States.

You will follow a structured training path designed to prepare you for a future Outside Sales Representative role, shadowing sales and operations to learn the full equipment rental lifecycle. You will progress through outbound campaigns across construction verticals, develop skills with CRM and other sales tools, and participate in team initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver�s license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M-F.

Responsibilities

• Begin training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operations to understand the equipment‑rental lifecycle.
• Join a North America onboarding class to sharpen sales technique and build internal support networks.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and varying customer segments.
• Master sales tools including CRM, inventory platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Lead high‑level sales conversations involving price negotiations and rental/service contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and track SDP progress with weekly competitions.
• Receive daily feedback from leadership and ride-alongs to jobsites to shape strategy.
• The average SDP duration is 4–6 months before promotion to Outside Sales Representative.
