Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Sales Associate for the Trench Safety division to begin in a structured Sales Development Program. You will train at a local branch, shadow sales and operations, and participate in a North America onboarding class to sharpen your technique.

You’ll progress through outbound campaigns across construction verticals, mastering CRM and other sales tools while developing relationship-building skills to advance to an Outside Sales role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile device skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M-F

Responsibilities

• Begin training at a local branch, shadowing both sales and operational roles to gain inside-out understanding of the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Join peers across North America for a digital onboarding class to sharpen sales technique.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns exposing you to different construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master sales tools including CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations involving price negotiations, contracts, and services.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and ride-alongs to jobsites.
• Track SDP progress through achievement levels and performance metrics.
