Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate to join the Trench Safety team. You will start in a structured Sales Development Program, shadowing sales and operations, and rotate through outbound campaigns to gain exposure to various construction segments.

You will learn to use our CRM, inventory systems, and customer portal while developing the relationship-building skills that fuel revenue growth and customer success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M‑F

Responsibilities

• Begin your training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operational roles.
• Join North American onboarding class to sharpen sales technique.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master United Rentals sales tools and CRM.
• Lead high-level sales conversations including price negotiations and rental contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver customer solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and ride-alongs for field exposure.
• Track progress with real-time metrics and weekly competitions.
