Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Sales Associate on our Fluid Solutions team in the United States. You’ll begin in a structured training path designed to prepare you for a future Outside Sales Representative role, working with experts to gain hands-on experience with our technical products and to build customer relationships.

You’ll progress through outbound campaigns, learn to use our CRM and other sales tools, and participate in local initiatives while advancing toward a promotion to OSR based on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M‑F.

Responsibilities

• Begin your training at a local branch, shadowing both sales and operational roles to gain an inside-out understanding of the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Join your peers across North America for a digital onboarding class to sharpen your sales technique.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master sales tools including CRM, inventory management platforms, and customer portal.
• Lead high-level sales discussions involving price negotiations and rental contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to drive revenue growth.
• Participate in team initiatives and watch for growth opportunities through the SDP timeline.
• Receive feedback from leadership meetings, coaching sessions, and ride‑alongs.
• The SDP lasts 4–6 months before promotion to Outside Sales Representative.
