Job summary

UniFirst Corporation is seeking a Route Trainee in the United States. This role trains for a full-time Route Service Representative, supporting daily operations, deliveries, and route coverage while learning multiple customer accounts.

The position emphasizes customer focus, safety, and professional service in a field-based environment. As a Route Trainee, you will participate in hands-on programs, learn to load/unload trucks, and grow toward independent route management with a Monday–Friday

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Meet DOT requirements, including a physical exam.
• HS diploma, GED, or military service required.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience in customer service or delivery is a plus.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Tech-savvy and willing to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in UniFirst’s Service Certificate Program to prepare for an RSR role.
• Assist service team with loading/unloading route trucks; ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Deliver clean garments and products to customers and return soiled items.
• Provide route coverage during RSR absences to manage established routes.
• Operate a company walk-in truck along designated routes; prioritize safety and customer relations.
• Engage in a physically active role across indoor and outdoor environments.
• Contribute to service department success by delivering outstanding service.
• Maintain a predictable Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no nights or weekends.
