Job summary

UniFirst Corporation is seeking a Route Trainee to begin a rewarding career in field-based service and customer care. You’ll train in the Service Certificate Program and support daily route operations while preparing to transition into a Route Service Representative role.

You’ll participate in hands-on training, assist with deliveries, and learn to manage routes with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Meet all DOT requirements, including a physical exam.
• High school diploma, GED, or military service required.
• Strong customer service skills; able to work independently while supporting a team.
• Prior experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery is a plus.
• Tech-savvy; comfortable learning new technologies to improve operations.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 50 lbs. and staying on your feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Participate in UniFirst’s Service Certificate Program to prepare for an RSR role.
• Support daily operations by loading/unloading route trucks with accuracy.
• Deliver clean garments and products and return soiled items on schedule.
• Provide route coverage during RSR absences and maintain high service standards.
• Represent UniFirst on the road, prioritizing safety and customer relationships.
• Engage in a physically active role across indoor and outdoor environments.
• Contribute to the Service Department’s success by delivering outstanding service and building customer relationships.
• Maintain a predictable Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no nights or weekends.
