Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Route Trainee to learn the ropes of field-based service and customer care. You’ll train through our Service Certificate Program and support daily operations while preparing to advance into a Route Service Representative role.

You’ll assist with deliveries, route coverage, and equipment handling, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule and no nights or weekends, offering growth into a full-time commissioned role.

Qualifications

• Driver's license required (21+), clean driving record, reliable transportation.
• DOT requirements, including a physical exam.
• High school diploma, GED, or military service is required.
• Strong customer service skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Prior experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery is a plus.
• Technically comfortable using new technologies to improve operations.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and be on foot for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Participate in UniFirst's Service Certificate Program to prepare for an RSR role.
• Support daily operations by loading/unloading route trucks and ensuring accuracy.
• Deliver clean garments and products to customers and return soiled items.
• Provide route coverage during RSR absences on established routes.
• Operate a company walk-in truck along designated routes with safety focus.
• Engage in a physically active role in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Contribute to service department success and customer relationships.
• Maintain a predictable Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no nights or weekends.
