Job summary

NANA Management Services, LLC is seeking a Security Officer to provide security at Maniilaq Village Health Clinics in Ambler, AK. This is a rotational assignment: one week on, one week off, with on-call duties outside normal hours as needed.

The role requires observing safety and security, de-escalation, monitoring doors and grounds, reporting incidents, assisting with events, and responding to emergencies. Training consists of a ten-day program in Kotzebue, with lodging and travel provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be able to pass State background check and obtain Alaska Guard License.
• Team player with fellow employees, customers and clients.
• Ability to make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Stand for 8-12 hours per shift.
• English proficiency required (read/write/speak).
• Safety-oriented in a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly across facilities and grounds.
• Ensure safety and compliance by all actions.
• De-escalate situations to protect employees, customers and clients.
• Check doors, windows, and security systems for proper operation.
• Record incidents and property-related data per policies.
• Assist in event setup and clinic readiness for functions.
• Warn violators and, if necessary, apprehend or remove them.
• Notify on-site personnel of visitors and appointments.
• Respond to emergencies to preserve life and property, including fire safety and active shooter protocols.
• May operate safety/life-support programs and issue ID badges.
