Job summary

NANA Management Services seeks a Security Officer for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas in Alaska. The role operates on a 1 week on, 1 week off rotation and may require on-call duties outside normal hours. Training includes a 10-day consecutive program in Kotzebue with lodging and travel provided.

The position emphasizes safety, incident reporting, and alert responses to emergencies, with no supervisory responsibilities. Must meet Alaska licensing and background requirements.

Qualifications

• Must pass State of Alaska background check.
• Must pay Alaska Guard License fee of $97 prior to starting.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and make quick decisions in a safety-sensitive environment.
• Must communicate in English (read, write, speak).

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas by visual, electronic, or audible means.
• Ensure safety and compliance in all actions.
• verbally de-escalate conflicts to protect employees, customers, and clients.
• Inspect doors, windows and other areas to verify security.
• Record incidents, property damage, and unusual occurrences per policy.
• Assist with events and clinic preparations.
• Notify and coordinate with on-site personnel regarding visitors.
• Respond to emergencies or disasters to protect life and property (fire safety, active shooter).
• May issue and record ID badges; perform routine safety program monitoring.
