Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. is assisting a Raleigh-area heavy civil contractor in finding a Roadway / Utility Superintendent to lead day and night crews on DOT roadway and underground utility projects.

The role requires strong field leadership, safety oversight, plan interpretation, and coordination with NCDOT inspectors. We’re seeking candidates with 5+ years of heavy civil roadway/utility experience at superintendent or senior foreman level, DOT project exposure, and a willingness to relocate

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway or underground utility experience at superintendent or senior foreman level.
• DOT roadway or utility project experience; night work is a plus.
• Ability to read plans and specs and track quantities accurately.
• Strong knowledge of traffic control and work zone safety.
• Willingness to work day or night shifts and a valid driver's license.
• NCDOT project experience is a plus; OSHA 30 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run day and night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects.
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and their foremen.
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries.
• Plan the work and maintain the project schedule shift-by-shift.
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift.
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures within approved work windows.
• Collaborate with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers.
• Track installed quantities and daily production.
• Complete daily reports, crew time and field documentation.
• Coordinate handoffs with the project manager and the other shift.
