Job summary

MDS Staffing seeks a Roadway / Utility Superintendent for day and night shifts in the Raleigh area. You will lead roadway and underground utility crews on highway projects, coordinating schedules with project engineers and NCDOT inspectors.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of heavy civil roadway/utility experience, strong reading of plans, and the ability to manage safety and production across shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway and/or underground utility experience at superintendent or senior foreman level.
• DOT roadway or utility project experience; night work a plus.
• Ability to read plans and specs and maintain accurate quantities.

Responsibilities

• Run day and night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects.
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and foremen.
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries.
• Plan the work and maintain the project schedule shift to shift.
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift.
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures within approved work windows.
• Work directly with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers.
• Track installed quantities and daily production.
• Complete daily reports and field documentation.
• Coordinate handoffs with the project manager and the other shift.
