Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Roadway / Utility Superintendent for day and night shifts in the Raleigh area to lead highway, roadway and underground utility crews on NCDOT projects. The role requires strong supervisory experience and reliability in a self-perform contractor environment.

The candidate will read plans, manage safety, traffic control, and field documentation while coordinating with inspectors and project engineers. Relocation to the Triangle area is welcome.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway and/or underground utility experience at superintendent or senior foreman level.
• DOT roadway or utility project experience, night work a plus.
• Ability to read plans and specifications and track quantities.
• Strong understanding of work zone traffic control and safety practices.
• Experience with coordinating and supervising crews and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Run day and night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects.
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and foremen.
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries.
• Plan the work and maintain the project schedule shift to shift.
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift.
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures within approved work windows.
• Coordinate with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers.
• Track installed quantities and daily production.
• Complete daily reports and field documentation.
• Coordinate handoffs with the project manager and the other shift.
