Job summary

AAA The Auto Club Group in Saint Paul, MN seeks a Service Vehicle Operator to respond to roadside calls, perform jump-starts, tire changes, lockouts, and safe towing, while ensuring member satisfaction on the road. You will work independently, maintain DOT compliance, and document activities with tablets and logs.

The role requires good driving history, a valid license, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds; physical dexterity and safety are prioritized in every shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid state driver's license with minimal driving infractions/incidents.
• Must pass drug screening, motor vehicle record review, criminal background check, and DOT physical.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
• Comfortable using GPS, mobile technology, tablets, and electronic applications.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret roadside service procedures and member benefits.
• Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to successfully complete AAA training programs.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• If employed in Illinois, possession of a valid Illinois C-Non CDL driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside assistance requests from AAA members using a tow truck or service vehicle.
• Provide emergency roadside services, including tire changes, fuel delivery, battery testing and installation, jump starts, lockout assistance, and minor mechanical adjustments.
• Safely tow disabled vehicles following established procedures and towing guidelines.
• Verify AAA membership and deliver outstanding customer service during every interaction.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections and report vehicle maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Utilize tablets and electronic devices to manage calls, update service requests, and access towing procedures.
• Accurately document daily activities, service calls, vehicle logs, and receipts.
• Maintain DOT certification and an acceptable driving record.
• Achieve goals related to member satisfaction, safety, productivity, and battery services.
• Support community and special AAA events as needed.
