Job summary

AAA The Auto Club Group in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Service Vehicle Operator to respond to roadside calls and assist members with jump starts, tire changes, lockouts, and towing when needed.

You will work independently on the road, use GPS and tablets to manage requests, and complete pre-trip/post-trip inspections while upholding safety and high service standards. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state driver’s license with minimal infractions.
• Must pass drug screening, MVR review, background check, and DOT physical.
• Strong customer service and professional communication.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Comfort with GPS and mobile tech.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Able to read roadside service procedures.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Complete AAA training programs.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside assistance calls using a tow truck or service vehicle.
• Provide emergency roadside services: tire changes, fuel delivery, battery testing and installation, jump starts, lockout assistance, and minor mechanical adjustments.
• Safely tow disabled vehicles following procedures.
• Verify AAA membership and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Utilize tablets and electronic devices to manage calls and update requests.
• Accurately document daily activities and service logs.
• Maintain DOT certification and driving record.
• Support AAA events as needed.
