Job summary

Cox Automotive Fleet is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers and equipment in a mobile/field environment. This role offers independence, a company-provided service vehicle, and opportunities for skill growth.

Responsibilities include documenting work, managing parts on the service truck, and ensuring safety compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards. High school diploma and tool set required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• DOT/FMCSA knowledge and ability to pass pre-employment screening.
• Own a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
• OEM training or certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on trailers in mobile/field setting.
• Repair and adjust trailer components (brakes, air lines, pumps, engines, liftgates, brake chambers).
• Document work with photos and RO records using company TRAIT app on iOS device.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly.
• Operate company service vehicle and conduct pre/post-trip checks.
