Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician II to perform certified DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs on customer trailers at on-site locations. The role involves working evenings & nights with a 100% travel expectation, using a company service truck and TRAIT app for documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience (Trailers).
• OEM training and certifications preferred.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools for required duties.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations apply; able to pass DOT background and medical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on trailers with minimal supervision.
• Document work orders and upload RO notes using TRAIT app.
• Diagnose and repair trailer components (brakes, air lines, pumps, engines, liftgates, welds).
• Manage parts inventory and operate company service truck safely.
• Communicate estimates and approvals with management and customers.
