Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting across the US. You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, test equipment, and document findings on RO via an iOS device and TRAIT app.

The role requires HS diploma/GED and 3+ years of related experience, with DOT and ASE certifications preferred. A valid CDL/driver status and safe driving record are expected.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; related experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• DOT/FMCSA requirements met; DOT medical card or pre-employment DOT checks.
• ASE certifications T3–T7 preferred; valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
• Ability to perform PMs and DOT inspections on various vehicle types.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems and perform repairs.
• Inspect and repair trailers; test and verify functionality with diagnostic tools.
• Document findings, parts used, and RO details via TRAIT app on iOS device.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
