Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs in a field setting. You will work independently and take the assigned service vehicle home daily.

The role emphasizes safe practices, accurate documentation, and strong communication with customers and internal teams. DOT compliance and tool proficiency are required for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DOT/FMCSA training is a plus.
• ASE certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide mobile service and maintenance for light to heavy‑duty vehicles in the field.
• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections in a mobile/field environment.
• Repair trailer components including brakes, air lines, pumps, liftgates, and related systems.
• Document work, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using the TRAIT app on an iOS device.
• Complete DOT forms accurately and maintain timely documentation.
• Manage parts inventory and operate the company service truck with routine safety checks.
• Communicate with customers and management to obtain approvals and coordinate repairs.
