Job summary

AAA The Auto Club Group is seeking a Service Vehicle Operator to respond to roadside assistance calls and provide services such as jump starts, tire changes, and lockouts. You will tow vehicles when needed and work independently on the road to assist our members.

You’ll perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, document work orders, and uphold safety standards while delivering top‑notch customer service in varying weather and traffic conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record.
• Must pass drug screen, MVRO, background check, and DOT exam.
• Strong customer service and professional communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make field decisions.
• Familiarity with GPS, mobile tech, tablets, and apps.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to read and follow service procedures.
• Completion of AAA training programs.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Illinois residents must have a valid Illinois C‑Non CDL.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside service requests using a tow truck or service vehicle.
• Provide emergency roadside services including tire changes, fuel delivery, battery work, jump starts, and lockout help.
• Safely tow disabled vehicles following procedures and guidelines.
• Verify AAA membership and deliver excellent service.
• Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip DOT inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Document daily activities, service calls, vehicle logs, and receipts.
• Maintain DOT certification and good driving record.
• Meet goals for member satisfaction, safety, and productivity.
• Support AAA events as needed.
