RWJBarnabas Health invites a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Jersey City Medical Center Medical-Surgical Unit-I for a full-time, day-shift role. The position surfaces a strong emphasis on patient assessments, evidence-based care, and interprofessional collaboration within a supportive team.

Licensure, BLS/ACLS, and EPIC EMR familiarity underpin daily responsibilities. Active NJ RN license or Multistate with NJ endorsement is required, with ACLS/BLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Active NJ RN license in good standing or Multistate RN License with NJ endorsement.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification and ACLS certification required within 6 months from date of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) like EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes with timely intervention.
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers for coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately about care plans.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to improve communication and transitions of care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and clinical ladder opportunities.
