Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Unit III (5E) in Jersey City. The RN will provide essential patient care on a telemetry-focused medical-surgical unit, with a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and every other weekend required.

Applicants must hold an active NJ RN license, BLS, and ideally a BSN. Prior medicine-surgical experience and EPIC proficiency are preferred to support high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license (or NJ Endorsement) with BLS certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Experience in medical-surgical/telemetry patient care.
• Comfort with electronic medical records (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families to support informed decisions.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in rounds and interdepartmental communication.
