Job summary

Mercy is seeking an RN for Pre-Procedure Phase II in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit on the main hospital floor. Hours are 10am-10:30pm, 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week). You will perform pre-admission assessments, collect medical histories, coordinate with anesthesia, and provide direct patient care across all ages.

You will work under nurse leadership to ensure high-quality care in a fast-paced perioperative setting. Mercy supports growth, collaboration, and compassionate patient service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current RN license in the state of practice
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
• BLS – American Heart Association
• Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Assessment with the patient prior to admission via a phone interview or in person
• Collects the patients' medical history from previous medical records
• Works closely with the anesthesia department in coordinating the patient's needs
• Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups.
• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care for patients in accordance with the plan of care, established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
