Job summary

Mercy in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pre Admission Phase II in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit. The role runs 10am–10:30pm, 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week), with one major or minor holiday per set period.

Under the ASU Nurse Manager, you assess and prep patients, gather medical histories, coordinate with anesthesia, and deliver direct patient care across all ages, in line with Mercy standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assessment with the patient prior to admission via phone interview or in person.
• Collects the patients' medical history from previous records.
• Coordinates the patient's needs with the anesthesia department.
• Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care per policies and standards.
