Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Pre Procedure Phase II in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit. The role involves patient assessment prior to admission, coordinating with anesthesia, and delivering direct care across ages, under supervision of the ASU Nurse Manager.

Hours are 10am–10:30pm, 0.9 FTE (36 hours weekly) with one major or one minor holiday. Mercy offers comprehensive benefits including insurance, retirement plans, and generous PTO to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensure: Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
• Other Skills: Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient prior to admission via phone interview or in person.
• Collect the patient’s medical history from prior records.
• Coordinate patient needs with the anesthesia department.
• Provide direct patient care for all age groups.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care per plan of care and hospital policies.
• Uphold Mercy Service Standards.
