Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pre Procedure Phase II in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU). The role involves pre-admission assessments, coordination with anesthesia, and direct patient care for all ages.

The ASU is a 28-bed prep unit and a 32-bed outpatient care area. The position is 36 hours per week (10am–10:30pm), at 0.9 FTE, with holidays, and Mercy benefits including education assistance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association.
• Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assessments with the patient prior to admission via phone interview or in person.
• Collect patient medical history from records.
• Coordinate with anesthesia for patient needs.
• Provide direct patient care for all age groups.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care per plan and policies.
• Adhere to Mercy Service Standards and mission.
