Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pre-Procedure Phase II in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU). This 0.9 FTE role (36 hours/week) supports pediatric and adult pre- and post-operative care in a 28-bed prep unit, adjacent to OR and PACU.

Under the ASUNurse Manager, you will assess patients, obtain histories, coordinate with anesthesia, and provide direct patient care across all ages while upholding Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• BLS certification – American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient prior to admission via phone interview or in person.
• Collect the patient’s medical history from previous records.
• Coordinate the patient’s needs with the anesthesia department.
• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care per plan of care and policies.
