Job summary

Mercy seeks a Registered Nurse for the Pre-Procedure Phase II in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit. The role involves pre-admission assessment, history collection, and coordination with anesthesia, delivering direct care to all ages, and ensuring care aligns with hospital policies.

The ASU supports patients before and after surgery in a 28-bed prep and 32-bed outpatient unit. Competitive benefits and a collaborative environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
• Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assessment with the patient prior to admission via a phone interview or in person.
• Collects the patient's medical history from previous medical records.
• Works closely with the anesthesia department in coordinating the patient's needs.
• Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups.
• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care for patients in accordance with the plan of care.
• Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
