Job summary

Wal-Mart Stores East, LP seeks an Emerging Store Manager (ESM) to train across merchandising, people leadership, financial management, customer experience, and community engagement. The developmental assignment lasts up to 12 to 18 months with mobility within the assigned region for Store Manager placement.

The role involves assisting in managing financial performance, analyzing reports and budgets, and guiding hourly associates and managers toward company standards and customer service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management or 2+ years in a supervisory role in retail/operations.
• Option 2: 4 years' management experience in retail, operations or distribution.
• 2 years' general management experience with financial accountability.
• For facilities selling firearms, CBC and training may be required.
• Certificate of Eligibility may be required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the store management team and implement objectives.
• Support staffing plans, talent pipelines, and succession efforts.
• Monitor budget, expenditures, and financial performance against targets.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards, and asset protection practices.
