Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Emerging Store Manager (ESM) for a developmental leadership track intended to prepare associates for Store Manager opportunities within Walmart US store operations. The role trains across merchandising, people leadership, finances, customer experience, and community engagement.

The assignment lasts up to 12–18 months with mobility within the region for Store Manager applications and potential placement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, retail management or financial management with 2+ years in a management role.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors.
• Financial accountability in a retail or distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing store financial performance and budget expenditures.
• Monitor sales and profit goals and analyze trends for forecasts.
• Support merchandise presentation, pricing, and stock levels.
• Lead and develop hourly associates and managers; implement staffing plans.
• Drive community outreach and open-door policy adherence.
