Job summary

Walmart is seeking a developmental leader to prepare associates for potential Store Manager opportunities within its U.S. store operations. The Emerging Store Manager (ESM) will train across merchandising, people leadership, financial management, customer experience and community engagement.

The role lasts 12–18 months, with regional mobility and post-program Store Manager placement opportunities. High emphasis on leadership, budgeting, and collaboration with multiple store teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, retail management or financial management.
• 4 years' experience in a management role within retail/operations with supervising responsibilities.
• 2 years' general management experience including financial accountability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and train associates across store operations to prepare for Store Manager roles.
• Assist in budget forecasting and monitor sales and profit goals with management feedback.
• Lead in merchandising, customer experience and community engagement initiatives.
• Support staffing plans and talent pipelines to meet workload goals.
• Drive adherence to company policies, asset protection and safety controls.
• Communicate goals and provide feedback to store leadership and hourly associates.
