Job summary

The role requires deep ophthalmology knowledge, 5+ years in pharma/biotech sales, and a proven product-launch track record. Expect 20–60% travel within an on-site territory in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales experience.
• Ophthalmology, retina, or rare/orphan disease experience strongly preferred; specialty pharmacy experience is a plus.
• Prior product launch experience in a small or pre-commercial biopharma setting.
• Strong understanding of payer/reimbursement landscape and patient access models.
• Proven ability to build relationships with academic and community retina specialists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and related providers.
• Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; high integrity and compliance culture.
• Willingness and ability to travel 20-60%; must live in territory.

Responsibilities

• Translate national brand strategy into a territory business strategy and tactical plan.
• Drive product adoption through pre-call planning, clinical messaging, and patient access education.
• Build proficiency in disease state, patient journey, and product knowledge for compelling messaging.
• Build and maintain relationships with KOLs, retina specialists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and genetic counselors.
• Manage territory budget, expenses, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and field teams to execute launch strategies.
