Job summary

The Salvation Army in San Jose is seeking a part-time Sales Lead at the San Jose Thrift Store. You will partner with the Store Manager to run daily operations, manage cash handling and merchandising, and supervise staff.

This role supports the ARC program and focuses on providing excellent service to customers and donors. You will contribute to achieving sales targets, maintaining inventory, and ensuring store safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year retail experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in daily store operations including opening/closing, POS, inventory, merchandising and donations.
• Handle day-to-day operations in absence of Store/Assistant Manager; escalate concerns to District Sales Manager.
• Monitor and analyze KPIs to drive store sales and profitability against budget and goals.
• Schedule store staff and conduct daily briefings; manage Time and Attendance in line with standards.
• Ensure high customer and donor satisfaction and develop strategies to improve service levels.
• Support Back Room Processing and coordinate with warehouse staff to meet processing goals.
• Supervise and report on Beneficiaries during Work Therapy Assignments as applicable.
• Maintain currency, inventory and property security; manage daily cash deposits and bank deposits.
• Ensure store is secure during off-hours; maintain alarm and safety protocols.
• Ensure safety measures align with ARC policy and regulatory requirements; assist with weekly store meetings.
• May transfer to other stores as needed.
