Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC San Jose in Salinas seeks a part-time Sales Lead to partner with the Store Manager in daily store operations, merchandising, and donations, while delivering exceptional customer service. This on-site role supports the ARC mission and the Salinas thrift store team.

The position involves supervising staff, analyzing performance metrics, coordinating schedules, and maintaining security of cash and inventory, with a focus on safety and community relations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of retail experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Background check required incl. Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with daily store operations: POS, inventory, merchandising and donations.
• Cover in absence of Store/Assistant Manager; coordinate with District Sales Manager.
• Monitor KPIs to drive store sales and profitability per budget and goals.
• Schedule staff and lead daily meetings; manage Time and Attendance.
• Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and improve service.
• Support Back Room Processing to meet daily goals.
• Supervise Beneficiaries when Work Therapy assignments are in place.
• Protect store currency, inventory and property; log cash deposits and bank deposits.
• Ensure building security when closed and follow ARC safety policies; report incidents.
• May transfer to other stores as needed; complete tasks assigned by leadership.
• Schedule and participate in Weekly Store Meetings.
• Contribute to a positive and mentoring environment for program participants.
