Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Greeneville, Tennessee to support store operations and leadership of the team. You will help customers, assist in merchandise handling, and ensure adherence to policies while developing Store Associates.

The role emphasizes a positive customer experience, team training, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. This position is full-time with typical retail scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and regularly stand, walk, and move.”

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and ensure store fixtures are effective.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; participate in loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and store policies; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept/mopped, and waste managed.
