Job summary

Family Dollar in Bulls Gap, Tennessee is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, and capitalizing on promotional displays to drive sales.

The role requires strong communication, quick problem solving, and the ability to train and supervise store associates while maintaining a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred with ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and oversee payroll/scheduling.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and loss prevention.
• Supervise and develop Store Associates; ensure a safe, respectful environment.
• Maintain clean, neat store areas and secure assets including cash.
