Job summary

Family Dollar in Greeneville, Tennessee is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with daily tasks, help customers, organize merchandise, supervise store associates, and ensure safety and policy compliance.

This role requires strong communication and leadership in a fast-paced retail environment; the ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and prior retail experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas and ensure a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
