Job summary

S&G Stores is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, ensuring policy compliance and store efficiency. The role emphasizes leadership, customer service excellence, and maintaining strong asset controls across the store.

The candidate will oversee staff, drive sales initiatives, and ensure proper merchandising, pricing, and safety procedures are followed. Prior supervisory experience is preferred and training programs are required to be completed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Retail or customer service experience is required.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
• Completion of Assistant Store Manager Training and related programs is required.
• Good understanding of store technology and systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager in daily operations and store performance.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures by staff.
• Maintain clean, organized store appearance and merchandising standards.
• Lead and motivate employees to deliver excellent customer service.
• Develop staff, empower employees, and monitor productivity.
• Respond to emergencies to ensure safety and security of customers and staff.
• Ensure pricing, signage, and planogram compliance across store.
• Drive sales by educating staff on selling initiatives and product highlights.
• Monitor transactions and ensure proper handling of store activity.
• Ensure fresh and appealing foodservice products through rotation and stock management.
• Complete required store reports and performance appraisals in a timely manner.
