Job summary

S&G Stores in the United States is seeking an Assistant Manager who serves as the direct support to the store manager, ensuring efficient operation, compliance with laws and company policies, and achievement of sales and profit goals. You will supervise staff, promote customer service, maintain a clean, well-organized store, and ensure proper execution of merchandising programs and reporting.

Weekend availability and varying shifts required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Retail experience or customer service experience is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Completion of the Assistant Store Manager Training program and other Company training programs may be required.
• Good understanding of Company systems and technology.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues.
• Knowledge of retail business management practices.
• Knowledge of store transactions and related programs.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service leadership and direction for the entire store and team of employees in the same location.
• Ensures employees follow all Company policies.
• Promotes and maintains a clean and organized store appearance inside and out.
• Fosters an environment focused on customer service and satisfaction.
• Promotes staff retention by developing leaders, empowering employees and encouraging productivity.
• Responds quickly to emergencies for safety and notifies appropriate individuals.
• Ensures merchandising and marketing programs are executed properly, including plan-o-gram integrity and sign placement.
• Ensures the store maximizes sales and educates staff on selling initiatives.
• Monitors store activities to ensure transactions are conducted properly.
• Ensures foodservice products are fresh and rotated, removing out-of-date products.
• Ensures timely completion of store reports and performance appraisals.
